40 year old man nailed his two children for witchcraft

A 40-year-old man, John Friday Akpan, who resides in Calabar, Akwa Ibom State, has landed himself in trouble for nailing his two children to a plank.
According to police reports, Akpan subjected his two children, Elisha Friday Akpan and Esther Friday Akpan, to harrowing treatment by nailing them to a plank in shape of a cross and locking them up in a hut without
food for weeks.
The accused says he made the move in order to heed the advice of a herbalist, “Dr.” Okokon after his children allegedly took his money.
Akpan claimed that the children took his money to their “master in the witchcraft coven and therefore deserve no mercy”.
It was gathered that two children said they survived by water which was supplied to them by one of their father’s kids from another woman.
“Our sister, Peace usually brings us water inside the hut when our father and our mother had gone out,” Esther said.
According to the kids, Elisha was alleged to have stolen N4,000 while Esther stole N2,000 and that angered their father and step-mother who started beating them severely and denying them food.
